YLKI: Smoking in the home environment is domestic violence behavior
If a husband, wife or child smokes at home it means that he has committed at least two acts of domestic violence
Jakarta (MidLand) – The Indonesian Consumer Foundation (YLKI) said that smoking in the home environment constitutes domestic violence behavior (KDRT).
“If a husband, wife or child smokes at home, it means that he or she has committed at least two acts of domestic violence,” YLKI Daily Management President Tulus Abadi said Tuesday in a discussion on crime-free areas. I smoke in Jakarta.
Tulus explained that the form of domestic violence that is perpetrated puts all residents of the home at risk of suffering from illnesses triggered by smoking.
Tulus further stated that the next domestic violence behavior was economic violence, where money that could have been used to purchase nutritious food was used for cigarette consumption which posed the risk of disease.
“Buy cigarettes any way you want, son NO buy eggs. As a result, the stunting rate in DKI Jakarta is high. “World-class cities continue to have growing pains,” she said.

For your information, data from the 2021 National Socio-Economic Survey (Susenas) reports that household spending on cigarette consumption is three times higher than spending on protein.
For this reason, the Director General of Public Health at the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) Maria Endang Sumiwi called on men, especially fathers, to contribute to the program to reduce stunting rates by shifting spending on cigarettes to needs protein for children’s growth.
