Xiaomi is reportedly working on a new foldable phone and has already received certification in China
MidLand, Jakarta – Xiaomi is reportedly working on a new foldable phone. The device in question is expected to feature a foldable clamshell design and is said to be called Xiaomi Mix Flip. A recent sighting on a Chinese certification platform has revealed more details regarding the upcoming device.
The new Xiaomi Mix Flip appeared at MIIT
Device Xiaomi’s Mix Flip is suspected to have appeared on the certification platform of China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT). Looking at the database, the device carries the model number 2311BPN23C.
This is in line with the report Gizmochina previously linked to the IMEI database which listed devices with the same model number. Recent sightings in China confirm an interesting feature that could be present in the Xiaomi Mix Flip.
This new foldable phone is listed with support for satellite communication, a popular feature found in flagship devices nowadays. Unfortunately, the MIIT certification does not reveal further details regarding the specifications of this device.

An earlier leak from tipster Digital Chat Station revealed some of the key specs of the Mix Flip. This new Flip phone is said to use the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset.
Mix Flip’s renders also give us an idea of its design. The rear has a horizontally aligned triple camera setup. One of the three cameras is expected to include a 3x telephoto lens.
A small external display will be placed just below the module camera behind. Meanwhile, the front has a tall clamshell screen with a punch-hole to accommodate the selfie camera.
