Jakarta (MidLand) – Coach Xavi Hernandez said that Barcelona’s young players, Lamine Yamal and Pau Cubarsi, have the ability and mental strength to play in Europe’s elite clubs.
Yamal and Cubarsi were the main players who brought it Blaugrana reached the Champions League quarter-finals for the first time in the last four years.
Yamal was the youngest player and goalscorer to play for Spain when he was 16 years and 50 days old last year. Meanwhile Cubarsi became the youngest defender to ever play for the national team at the age of 17 years and 58 days.
“They have to maintain their level – Barça is the highest team in world football,” said Xavi as reported by AFP, Friday (29/3).
“Many are at the elite level, but maintaining it is very difficult. But they can, they have everything, mentality and ability. So I think we have two players who can define an era in this club and also in the world,” said the former midfielder of the Spanish national team That.

Even though Yamal is still a teenager, Xavi said, the right-wing forward has the composure and mental strength to take on the opposing team’s defenders.
“Mentally, I see him as a happy person, a fun person, he likes it and I see him happy,” added Xavi.
Barcelona, which is in second place with a distance of eight points from leaders Real Madrid, will face Athletic Bilbao on Sunday (31/3). Next, Barcelona will face Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League on April 10 in Paris.
