With a dramatic victory over Liverpool, United qualified for the semi-finals of the FA Cup

Jakarta (MidLand) – Manchester United secured qualification for the semi-finals of the FA Cup, after winning a dramatic match against arch-rivals Liverpool with a score of 4-3, in the quarter-finals at Old Trafford, Manchester , Sunday.

Appearing at home made United look more enthusiastic. The first threat was presented by Aaron Wan-Bissaka whose chance was however anticipated by Caoimhin Kelleher, while the next chance was created by Marcus Rashford’s kick which was blocked by the Liverpool goalkeeper.

The Old Trafford Stadium roars in the tenth minute as United break the deadlock. Rashford sent a pass from the left to Alejandro Garnacho who then shot. The ball was pushed over by Kelleher, but the rebound fell to the feet of Scott McTominay and he headed it into the visitors’ goal.

Liverpool slowly started to take control of the game and put pressure on the hosts. They scored a goal with Wataru Endo converting Salah’s pass, but a VAR review disallowed the goal because Salah was already in an offside position.

THE Rossi he only managed to equalize in the 44th minute. Central defender Jarell Quansah was involved in building the attack, who then passed the ball to Darwin Nunez. The Uruguay striker passed the ball to Alexis Mac Allister, whose shot was deflected slightly by Kobbie Mainoo to outsmart goalkeeper Andre Onana.

Going into the 45+2 minute, Liverpool reversed the position. Nunez creates space to fire a shot which Onana manages to parry, the rebound then falls to Salah who controls the ball once before using his right foot to send it into the United goal. 2-1 for Liverpool in the first half.

Both teams took turns threatening each other after the break. Nunez had time to trouble United’s defense before Onana took control of the situation, while Bruno Fernandes’ cross failed to meet the home defense players.

Nunez had another good chance when he outmaneuvered Raphael Varane to create space for a shot, but his shot was saved by Onana.

In the 84th minute United managed to equalise. Antony, having entered the penalty area, fired a low shot into the bottom corner of the Liverpool goal which Kelleher failed to block. The score is now tied at 2-2.

Elliot almost scored the winning goal for Liverpool when his shot hit the post moments later. United also had a golden opportunity to secure victory but Rashford failed to put the ball in Liverpool’s goal even though he only had to deal with Kelleher by shooting wide.

The match continued into extra time.
