Jakarta (MidLand) – Arema FC coach Widodo Cahyono Putro gave his players time to reflect after suffering a 3-4 defeat against Persita Tangerang last Wednesday.
Quoted on Sunday by the official website of the Indonesian league, Widodo explained that this time to reflect is useful to increase the players’ motivation again.
“I’m taking 2 days off. We’re preparing for the next match. So I hope, I’m sure our players can recover because there was a good break. I hope we stay enthusiastic,” Widodo said.
The former Indonesian national team player hopes this holiday will give the players time to reflect on their disappointment.
Afterwards, the players will be able to make peace with the situation and organize their hearts to face the last five matches that will determine the fate of the team of the highest caste in Indonesian football.

This defeat against Persita Tangerang brought Arema FC closer to the relegation zone, to be precise in 15th place in the Indonesian League 1 table with 31 points from 29 games.
Arema FC has the same points as PSS Sleman who is in 14th place and Persita Tangerang who is in 16th place in the red zone.
The three teams outdo each other in terms of terms head to head. PSS is superior to Persita, Persita is superior to Arema FC and Arema FC is superior to PSS.
Next, Arema FC are expected to face tough matches against Persebaya Surabaya, PSS Sleman, Borneo FC Samarinda, PSM Makassar and Madura United FC, but Widodo believes his team has the ability to avoid the relegation zone.
“We must remain enthusiastic, we must not give up, if we give up we will die. We are still enthusiastic for the next match, which is football. We must continue to be enthusiastic, not be a burden and use it as a lesson so that the future is better”, he underlined Widodo.
Next, Arema FC will face Persebaya Surabaya in the 30th week of Indonesian League 1 at Captain I Wayan Dipta Stadium, Gianyar, Bali on March 27.
