When scouts socialize snake life with visitors to the 2023 Flona exhibit

TIME.CO, Jakarta – Flora and Fauna Exhibition (Flona) 2023 in Taman Lapangan Banteng, Central Jakarta, which will take place from September 15 to October 16, 2023, can be a place to fill weekend free time for residents. There are many plants on display and for sale, but there are also live animals on display.

“The South Jakarta booth has socialization I am and you can take photos for free,” said Nadiah Rahadatul Asiah, a scout currently studying at UIN Jakarta specializing in family law, promoting her position on Saturday, October 7, 2023.

About 15 teenagers in scout uniforms served the visitors who came, explaining about the snakes, enticing frightened children and offering free photos with the snakes.

There are two snakes there. First, the 80 centimeter long Halmahera Single Tree Snake is brown. The second is a flower python named Angel, about 3 meters long.

Many visitors are afraid of holding snakes, from children to the elderly. However, there were also siblings, Mila and Azwi from South Jakarta, who calmly held the flower python while petting it.

Azwi, from Grade 5, admitted that this was the first time he had ever held a snake. “It looks rubbery,” she said.

There were also a group of women from Bekasi who admitted that they were brave enough to test their courage to take a photo with a flower python even though they were screaming. Visitors sat in rows holding tame snakes with distinctive patterns in their laps.

They also learn about animals in the wild and how to save them in their surroundings. They also socialize in various ways to preserve the environment.

In this exhibit they give a brief introduction to the life of snakes. For example, not all snakes are poisonous.

He was also informed that the way a snake is held cannot be arbitrary. For example, the Single Tree Snake, although small in size, still handles it delicately and should not be frightened. It is hoped that by interacting with these two tame snakes, visitors will be able to learn more about snakes.
