West Jakarta PMI provides healthcare services to fire victims in Kapuk
Jakarta (MidLand) – The Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) in West Jakarta provided health services to fire victims in Kapuk Cengkareng area, West Jakarta, Wednesday (8/5).
PMI West Jakarta (Jakbar) president Beky Mardani said health services consist of medicines and emergency ambulances for residents affected by the fire.
“We are deploying volunteers and health workers, providing the necessary medicines, including ambulances,” Beky said.
PMI West Jakarta also provided healthcare services to six residents affected by the fire.
“Three adults, two elderly people and one child. Each of them received health services for ISPA, dizziness, hypertension and toothache,” Beky said.

Karsini (45), a resident of RW 07 Kapuk, admitted that she is resigned to the plight of her family who is still taking refuge in refugee camps.
“Before the fire, I had a history of high blood pressure and cholesterol. During the fire, I tried to stay calm. Even though the house was on fire, the important thing was that my children and wife were safe,” he said.
When West Jakarta PMI Health Service opened, Karsini immediately took a health screening to ensure her health.
“After the examination, it turned out that I had hypertension. My blood pressure increased and I felt dizzy. Then they gave me medicine and I took enough rest,” he said.
Previously, PMI West Jakarta provided logistical assistance to residents affected by the fire in RW 07, Kapuk Village.
The aid consisted of 20 kilograms of rice, three boxes of instant noodles, three boxes of mineral water, 34 packs of diapers, 10 packs of “family kit” and two boxes of bath soap.
