MidLand, Jakarta – University of Indonesia (UI) is one of the most popular state universities (PTN) in Indonesia. According to the Simak UI page, strong competition for potential new students at the UI in 2022 will reach 1.29% for the Medical Education study program through the SIMAK UI selection route. This means that out of 7,439 applicants, only 12 people were selected who could become Medical Education students at the University of Indonesia.
Besides that, based on the QS World University Rankings 2023, UI is also the first best campus in Indonesia and is ranked 237th in the world. With this ranking, UI managed to outperform other favorite campuses, such as Gadjah Mada University (UGM), Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB), Airlangga University (Unair), and Bogor Agricultural Institute (IPB University).
To join UI students, there are several registration and selection paths opened by the university located in Depok, West Java. Starting from SNBP (National Results-Based Selection), SNBT (National Test-Based Selection), PPKB (Pathway to Achievement and Equal Learning Opportunities) and SIMAK UI (Entry Selection UI).

Tuition fees at UI
The University of Indonesia offers educational activities for Science, Technology and Health Sciences (Science, Technology and Health) and Social Sciences and Humanities (Social and Humanities). In addition to undergraduate education, the UI also has Diploma III and Diploma IV professional education levels. Each education level and family has a different amount of UKT tax.
Nonetheless, the provisions relating to UI registration fees have been regulated by the UI Rector’s Decree no. 402/SK/R/UI/2023 relating to the enrollment fees for students of degree courses and professional training programs for the national selection path for the academic year 2023/2024.
In the regulation issued on March 27, 2023, the amount of single tuition fee (UKT) for students of University of Indonesia is divided into 11 classes taking into account the economic conditions of students and guardians of students with the principle of justice . The details of the university fees at the UI are as follows:
1. Bachelor of Science, Technology and Health (Saintek)
- Class 1 Rep. 0 – Rep. 500 thousand
- Branch 2 > IDR 500 thousand – IDR 1 million
- Branch 3 > IDR 1 million – IDR 2 million
- Branch 4 > IDR 2 million – IDR 4 million
- Branch 5 > IDR 4 million – IDR 6 million
- Branch 6 > IDR 6 million – IDR 7.5 million
- Branch 7 > IDR 7.5 million – IDR 10 million
- Branch 8 > IDR 10 million – IDR 12.5 million
- Branch 9 > IDR 12.5 million – IDR 15 million
- Branch 10 > IDR 15 million – IDR 17.5 million
- Branch 11 > IDR 17.5 million – IDR 20 million
2. Social and Humanistic Hub

4. Independent professional training program

As known, UI has an independent selection path through SIMAK UI. However, for professional education levels, be it D3 or D4, this selection path opens only a few study programmes. In addition to this, the cost of education or UKT is also different from other vocational education selection routes.
Based on the UI Rector’s Decree n. 669/SK/R/UI/2023, the following is the amount of tuition fees at the UI for independent professional training programs.
- All study/specialization programs (D3): 10,000,000 IDR (UKT) and 11,500,000 IDR (Institutional Development Fee or IPI).
- D4 Physiotherapy: IDR 13,000,000 (UKT) and IDR 15,000,000 (IPI).
- D4 Occupational therapy: IDR 13,000,000 (UKT) and IDR 15,000,000 (IPI).
- D4 Document and archive management: IDR 11,000,000 (UKT) and IDR 15,000,000 (IPI).
- D4 Creative activity: 11,000,000 IDR (UKT) and 15,000,000 IDR (IPI).
- D4 Media Production: IDR 11,000,000 (UKT) and IDR 15,000,000 (IPI).
- Tuition fees for the independent track UI 2023 D4 Business and Tourism Management: IDR 11,000,000 (UKT) and IDR 15,000,000 (IPI).
