Currently 97.10% of the population of Bukittinggi have registered as participants in the JKN,” said Bukittinggi Health Service chief Linda Faroza in Bukittinggi, Monday .

Universal Health Coverage (UHC) is a health insurance system that guarantees every citizen of the population equal access to quality promotional, preventive, curative and rehabilitative health services at affordable costs.

Linda Faroza explained that, not only that, the active participant achievement target for West Sumatra province has reached a figure of 75%, which could be surpassed by the city of Bukittinggi which managed to reach a figure of 76.77 %.

According to him, this achievement shows that the coverage of health services in Bukittinggi city continues to increase. Good cooperation and coordination between related agencies such as the Health Service, Social Service, Civil Registry Service and BPJS, so that member coverage continues to be maintained.

“Under the membership coverage goal, Bukittinggi City has improved access to essential health services and reduced the number of people suffering from financial hardship seeking treatment or requiring health services,” he said.

He explained that this service includes improving access to diagnostic drugs, vaccines and essential medical equipment in primary health services.

“The Bukittinggi city government is committed to UHC planning. Sufficient budget allocation until the end of the year is proof of this,” he said.

Previously, Bukittinggi had been recognized as the best in access to public health services through an award given directly by the Governor of West Sumatra to the Mayor of Bukittinggi, represented by the Health Service Manager.

The Bukittinggi city government is considered the best region in providing access to healthcare services and quickly facilitating the community with its healthcare needs.

Then there is a proposal to join a community health insurance that requires new health services, through the large Bukittinggi and JKSS programme.
