MidLand, Jakarta – Gadjah Mada University or UGM provides 9,362 fees for regular lessons and 1,010 fees for international lessons (International Undergraduate Program). This amount is intended for new undergraduates and undergraduates candidates for new admissions for the academic year. 2024/2025.

The quota for new students of regular classes is divided into three selection paths, namely National Results-Based Selection (SNBP) at 30%, National Test-Based Selection (SNBT) at 30% and Independent Selection at 40%.

“This year, UGM will accept 10,372 potential new students,” UGM Vice Chancellor for Education and Teaching Wening Udasmoro said on Thursday, January 18, 2024, as reported on the UGM website.

Wening said the capacity of each selection route for the SNBP route was 2,821 people, SNBT 2,821 people and independent selection 3,720 people and IUP 1,010 people. Specifically for the independent selection route, UGM has two routes, namely the UGM Higher Seed Search Entrance Exam (UM UGM PBU) and the UM UGM Computer Based Test (CBT).

“There are three PBUs, namely the Poor Man’s Superior Seed Search (PBUTM), the Successful Superior Seed Search (PBUB) and the UGM Tridharma 3T Tridharma and Affirmation Superior Seed Search pathway,” he said.

As is known, the Search for Higher Seeds for the Poor (PBUTM) is one of the entry routes to UGM for prospective students who have financial limitations. PBUB, then, is a selection process intended for students who win or win competitions in the fields of sport, arts and science and technology. Meanwhile, PBU Affirmation and 3T Regions are selection routes for prospective students with results who come from Affirmation Regions and disadvantaged, frontier or outermost (3T) Regions which are areas of UGM Tridharma activities.

The PBUB UGM selection, Wening explained, is intended for students who have achieved results at the international, national and provincial levels in competitions in the fields of science and technology, sports and the arts.

He gave the example of students who have won in artistic fields such as photography, band, MTQ, pesparawi or similar religious competitions, orchestra or musical arts, choir or vocal arts, dance and musical arts, including entrepreneurs or sinden, can register in this path.

“The winner of an art competition need not be first or second or fifth place in an international art competition or have participated in a world-class performance or activity recommended by the Regional Arts Council or an authorized institution,” he explained .

For the national level championship, it is for students who get first to third place at Sports and Arts Week (Porseni) or National Student Arts Festival and Competition (FLSN) and Indonesian Student Literacy Festival (Felsi) or at the MTQ or Pesparawi Competition, or similar religious competition at the national level.

Meanwhile, similar provincial-level competitions can be used if you have won first or second place in Porseni, Literacy Festival, MTQ/Pesparawi or similar provincial-level religious competitions.

“We must communicate that to clarify the information that is circulating, the UGM does not open a route for students to register for Al-Quran Hafidz but for those who win Musabaqah Tilawatil Qur’an (MTQ) it can be used to register for PBUB Arts route “, he added.

In addition to accepting new students for regular tuition, UGM also accepts international tuition (IUP). The admission of new IUP students takes place in 3 waves, specifically in wave 2 it will be carried out online with the aim of giving potential candidates who are out of town or even abroad the opportunity to take part in the selection.

On that occasion, Wening also shared advice for future new students so that they can pass the selection process to enter state universities. According to Wening, students should choose a study program based on their interests.

Not only that, students also always follow the latest information on SNBP, SNBT and independent registration via the official snpmb page and um.ugm.ac.id. There are additional provisions for students who have passed the SNBP 2024, who cannot register for the SNBT route.

“If you do not register for SNBT, it means you will not take the UTBK test, which will result in you not being able to register for the UM UGM CBT pathway because this pathway requires a certificate and a UTBK score,” he said.
