Two Indonesian companies are partnering with SpaceX to use Starlink

TIME.CO, Jakarta – Indonesian companies have collaborated with SpaceX in use Starlinkor Internet connection services broadband connection from space without the need for fiber optic cables to Earth, including Telkom Satellite (Telkomsat) AND Smartfren.

Smartfren CEO Muljono said his party’s collaboration with SpaceX has been in place since early 2023. Again, Starlink is just a backhaul. This means that Starlink does not directly serve the Internet user community.
