Tokopedia records 3 best-selling categories during “Extra Exciting Ramadan”

Jakarta (MidLand) – PT Tokopedia, which has successfully carried out the offline business “Extra Fun Ramadhan”, has released several sales increases in the top three categories such as grocery, electronics and fashion, which recorded an increase of up to 9 times than normal days.

“Ramadan is truly the month of sharing, perhaps for those who shop to give as gifts to relatives in their hometown, it is no wonder that the increase in sales can be many times higher,” said the communications director Shop Tokopedia e-commerce, Nuraini Razak in Jakarta, Thursday.

He explained that the increase that occurred in the fashion category during the event could reach 2.5 times, then there are also the electronics and grocery categories which had an increase of up to 3 times.

Even so, he could not provide data or sales numbers in each category which he said had quite a positive increase in shoppers during the activity which took place from February 23 to April 5, 2024 at Pondok Indah Mall, Jakarta.

At least with these offline businesses, his party always makes it easy for sellers and buyers to find the goods they really need.

Even Tokopedia, famous for supporting micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), received a lot of purchases during that period, so it jumped up to 9 times.

According to him, several categories of local brands marketing their products on this platform have received quite positive blessings during Ramadan.

This increase is due to the “Buy Local” campaign, which began in December 2023, to help traders become the main choice for Indonesian consumers during the Ramadan and Eid periods.

“Buy local” is a nearly 9x increase. “We launched it in December, we made it easier for sellers and buyers and sales increased up to 9 times during Ramadan,” she said.
