Banda Aceh (MidLand) – The 2024 Aceh-North Sumatra National Sports Week (PON) wave surfing competition at Ritting Beach, Lhoknga, Aceh Besar on Friday was postponed as recommended by local traditional leaders who requested that the activities begin after Friday prayers.
According to the match schedule information received by journalists on Friday morning, the wave surfing competition was originally scheduled to start at 08:00 WIB. However, since the match can only be held after Friday prayers, the competition will now start at 14:00 WIB.
“Because we were-update “Since PSOI (Indonesian Wave Surfing Association) Aceh in Lhoknga area the traditional leader suggested that there should be no activities before Friday prayers, the competition will continue at 14.00 WIB,” said Technical Delegate for Wave Surfing Sports Branch of PON XXI Aceh -North Sumatra Anggi Yuhista when confirmed on Friday.
Today’s wave surfing competition will be held for the Men’s Shortboard division, with the quarterfinals from 14:00 WIB to 15:23 WIB, followed by the Women’s Shortboard division quarterfinals from 15:24 WIB to 16:47 WIB.
The Men’s Air Division matches will take place next, with the semi-finals from 16.48 WIB to 17.29 WIB, followed by the finals from 17.30 WIB to 17.50 WIB.
