The story of a student from Bidikmisi ITB wins the national champion of scientific performance and researches the shortcomings of PLTB

TIME.CO, Jakarta – Abdul Kholik is a student Bidikmisi Mining Engineering Bandung Institute of Technology or ITB extension who managed to win 1st place in the essay writing contest e Best presentation at the 2023 Tidar National Scientific Performance (PIN).

PIN Tidar is a competition wise national level organized by Bidikmisi Student Association and KIP-K Tidar University with two branches of the competition namely essay and business plan. The competition is themed “Actualizing the Role of Students in the Sustainable Change Movement in Efforts to Achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)” and participants are students receiving Bidikmisi or KIP-Kuliah scholarships from Indonesian universities.

Abdul Kholik’s essay was included in the top 15 essays out of 122 manuscripts submitted by about 55 universities. The selected manuscripts were then presented on Tuesday 8 August 2023 at Tidar University, Magelang.

With the title of the essay “RenovaFlow: Optimizing Green and Pocket Power Generation with a Fluid Structure Interaction Approach on Vortex Shedding Turbines with Resonance Frequency Automation Adjustment” Abdul managed to compete with the 15 participants who took part in the final and presentation stages . Also, he was named a student with better presentation in the title.

Abdul Kholik has an idea for an essay regarding the development of a wind farm (PLTB). He found several weaknesses of the PLTB, such as noise and the need for long cables.

“So I offer a solution, which is VST with the ability to automatically manipulate natural resonance,” Abdul Kholik was quoted as quoted by the ITB official website on Friday, September 1, 2023.

That’s not to say there aren’t obstacles, Abdul often experiences limited time and hard-to-get literary studies. He has encountered difficulties in developing his ideas about him.

“After analyzing my idea, it turned out that RenovaFlow can also support the regional and national economy because it can generate a total expected return of IDR 285,345,800,” said Abdul Kholik.

Abdul Kholik’s success in achieving results is inseparable from his interest in reading and writing. The experience gained during the internship at the association also helped to improve his ability to write essays. Also, his ability to manage time well and prioritize was a key factor in pushing Abdul to win the title.

Even though he won the competition, Abdul Kholik maintains his enthusiasm and actively participates in various other competitions. Currently he is busy with the various competitions in which he participates.

Abdul Kholik hopes his work has a positive influence, especially on the sustainability of environmentally friendly and renewable energies so that they can reduce pollution on earth.
