The provincial government of East Kalimantan (Kaltim), together with the local Regional People’s Representative Council (DPRD), have agreed to form a special team to evaluate education development as a step to accelerate this sector in the Etam continent.

East Kalimantan Acting Governor Akmal Malik in Samarinda on Saturday said the team would involve elements of parliament, the provincial government, the regional education council and university academics. The goal is to refine existing educational policies and ensure their correct execution.

He stressed that education issues must be viewed broadly and involve all stakeholders, including the education council and the East Kalimantan Educational and Cultural Service.

Akmal Malik stressed that the Education Bureau must be a locomotive in the achievement of education in East Kalimantan, including strengthening coordination with bodies under its auspices, such as the Regional Education Council and also the of scholarship management Kaltim Tuntas.

“From the meeting with the East Kalimantan DPRD, we both emphasized the importance of the education department’s role in collaborating with universities and scholarship management institutes,” he said.

Hopes that in the future there will be an increase in monitoring and distribution of scholarships, as well as an increase in the number of distributed scholarships, which is currently budgeted at IDR 200 billion by the APBD 2024, and allows for an increase in the number in APBD 2024 changes.

“We have a common commitment to continue working together to ensure that education in East Kalimantan can develop and provide maximum benefits to the community,” said Akmal Malik.

On the same occasion, East Kalimantan DPRD President Hasanuddin Mas’ud underlined the importance of transparency in the management of scholarships for East Kalimantan students and students.
