The provincial government DKI and BTN will organize a marathon in June this year

Jakarta Provincial Government DKI and PT Bank Tabungan Negara Tbk (BTN) will organize the 2024 Jakarta International Marathon (Jakim) on June 23, 2024.

Acting DKI Jakarta Governor Heru Budi Hartono said that this marathon was held to celebrate the 497th anniversary of Jakarta City and improve Jakarta as a sports tourism city.

“After last year’s BTN Jakarta Run was held successfully, we are optimistic that the 2024 BTN Jakarta International Marathon will be more successful and receive great interest from the public,” he said in a written statement on Sunday.

Heru hopes this business will have an impact on Jakarta’s economy.


“And it can boost the economy of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), arousing the enthusiasm of residents of Jakarta and its surroundings to be healthier,” Heru continued.


Heru guarantees that this event applies the 3S, namely Safety, Security and Sterility.

DKI and Satpol PP transport officers will be deployed to sanitize the race route, from Monas North West Cross to the finish at the Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) main stadium.

“With this S3 guarantee it will hopefully increase runners’ concentration in running the marathon from the start line to the finish line,” he said.


BTN president and director Nixon LP Napitupulu is optimistic that this competition will attract many runners from within and outside the country. His goal is for 15,000 runners to participate in this race.


“People’s interest in running is very high. This is demonstrated by the large number of registrations for different events we have organised, such as the BTN Run or the BTN Jakarta Run last year, which aroused very high interest,” he said. said.


Nixon added that the categories in BTN Jakim 2024 are Marathon (42,195K), Half Marathon (21,0975K) and 10K.


“The total prize prepared for this event amounts to approximately IDR 3 billion, including the first house prize for participants who manage to break the marathon record reserved for Indonesian citizens,” Nixon said.


“Registration will open on March 10, 2024, and BTN customers who have the BTN Mobile application will receive an attractive discount,” Nixon concluded.
