The Ponorogo Reog Festival is included in KEN 2024

Ponorogo, East Java (MidLand) – The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf) has released 110 event which is included in the Kharisma Event Nusantara (KEN) in 2024, and one of them is the Reog Ponorogo Festival.

“This is the third time in three consecutive years that the Reog arts festival, which has long been the flagship tourism program of the Ponorogo regency government, has been included in the KEN,” said Ponorogo Hasyim, a culture lover from Reog, in Ponorogo, East Java, on Sunday. .

Kharisma Event Nusantara (KEN) is a calendar event belongs to the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy which plans all activities from Aceh to Papua in 2024.

The Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno said this in his press release event those included in KEN 2024 have undergone rigorous curation.

“These 110 activities were then outlined in the book catalog Kharisma Event Nusantara 2024, as a form of information or guidance for the public and tourists, both local and international,” he said.

Sandiaga said that before it was announced, the curation team had selected each one event in 38 provinces of Indonesia.

“A total of 110 event Those who entered KEN 2024 have been curators for three months. “We have to thank the curators,” she said.

On that occasion, Sandiaga admitted that he is optimistic that the implementation of quality KEN can become a promotional means and drive tourism locally and nationally.

Apart from this, other sectors such as economy, socioculture and environment will also have a positive impact.

Based on data from the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, in 2023 KEN mobilized up to 7.3 million tourists, empowered tens of thousands of local workers and MSMEs, and achieved an economic turnover that reached 12, IDR 38 trillion.

“Last year KEN managed to bring the economic turnover to IDR 12.38 trillion, of course this is extraordinary,” he said.
