Jakarta (MidLand) – The Indonesian Internet Domain Name Manager (PANDI) will discuss the idea of a digital sovereign Indonesia at the PANDI meeting to be held from 16 to 17 May 2024 at The Ritz-Carlton Hotel, Jakarta.
“PANDI, as the .id domain name registry, is very interested in efforts to realize Indonesian sovereignty, for example in the context of managing the .id domain as a demarcation of Indonesian territory on the Internet,” said the president of PANDI, John Sihar Simanjuntak, quoted in the organization’s statement. press release on Saturday (6/4) .
PANDI invites all players in the Internet industry and governance in Indonesia to contribute and participate in this annual event, which includes workshops, conferences, focus group discussions and policy meetings.

John highlighted the importance of building a trusted digital identity in an effort to create a digitally sovereign Indonesia.
Therefore, PANDI designed a blockchain-based digital identity in collaboration with relevant government agencies.
PANDI at the event held in Jakarta on Thursday (4/4) conveyed the idea of a digital sovereign Indonesia to promote the discourse and commitment of the Indonesian government, industry and society in strengthening the ecosystem Indonesian Internet.
Key stakeholders from government, business, academia and community representatives have welcomed the idea.
