The Ministry of Education and Culture launches the pilot program Healthy School, what is it?

TIME.CO, JakartaMinistry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) has launched a pilot program for Advanced Generation Healthy Schools. The pilot school started at SDN 3 Bangka, Bogor City. As many as 50 schools in West Java province are expected to be included in the programme.

Director-General of Early Childhood Education, Basic and Secondary Education (PAUD Dikdasmen), Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology, Iwan Syahril, said the program is a campaign for one clean and healthy lifestyle in the school environment.

Furthermore, he said, in the context of the post-Covid-19 pandemic, awareness is important for schools to support a quality learning process. “Bogor is one of those who will get the intervention, how the schools will become an educational environment for the habit of clean and healthy life sooner,” she said on Monday, July 31, 2023.

Iwan said, from the goal of 50 primary schools to become pilot schools in West Java, the cities of Bogor and Bandung in the future will have the opportunity to start it.

He explained that the program included interactive modules, guides, pre-tests and final tests for schools after six months of implementing a clean and healthy school system.

So, in the implementation of making school children physically healthy, there are three integrated programs, namely, educational programs, nutrition programs, and healthy parenting.

Iwan said the Advanced Generation Healthy School Curriculum was the result of collaboration between the Ministry of Education and Culture with Danone Indonesia and IPB University in developing a healthy learning system for elementary school students.

“We worked together with various partners last year, including Danone, and we are very pleased that we were able to make it happen, especially in the cities of Bogor and Bandung,” he said.

Previous support, Iwan said, already existed for health, hygiene and vocational education programs in education units. Including support to increase access to nutrition and education through the “show hands” movement in 2021.

“Earlier, the mayor (Bima Arya) also communicated the importance of synergy with various parties, let’s work together to train Indonesian human resources who are healthy, intelligent and with character,” he explained.
