The Ministry of Communications and Information ensures the availability of the 5G network during the World Water Forum
Jakarta (MidLand) – Director General of Information and Public Communication of the Ministry of Communications and Informatics, Usman Kansong, confirmed the availability of the 5G telecommunications network during the 10th World Water Forum which will take place from 18 to May 25 in Bali.
“The 5G network is safe, because the infrastructure already exists in Bali, so we just need to check it, we don’t need a new one because it is already available there,” Usman told MidLand on Wednesday.
Usman said that during the World Water Forum, 5G network will be available at a number of locations, centered around the event location, such as the Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center (BNDCC) and the Bali International Convention Center (BICC).
The 5G network, he explained, will also be available in the media center to facilitate journalists’ access to telecommunications during coverage of the event.

Usman highlighted the importance of 5G network during the event to support the speed and security of communication during the event.
“The 5G network is definitely faster, the technology is better than 4G. This is an improvement in the technology. So this will help the participants to communicate, it will also help the media to send news, to send videos and images,” Usman said.
As for the places the delegation will visit, such as Tahura Mangrove Ngurah Rai, the 4G network is considered sufficient. However, if necessary, Usman said his party could upgrade the network there to 5G.
“At the place of visit, for example Tahura, there is 4G, although we can upgrade it to 5G. But this depends on the needs,” he said.
In supporting the 5G network infrastructure, Usman said all operators, such as Telkom, XL, Indosat Hutchison and Smartfren are involved in supporting the provision of this service.
The 10th World Water Forum focused on discussing four themes, namely water conservation (water conservation), clean water and sanitation (clean water and sanitation), food and energy security (food and energy security), as well as the mitigation of natural disasters (mitigation of natural disasters).
A total of 244 sessions of the forum are expected to provide concrete results regarding the integration of integrated water management for small islands or Integrated management of water resources (IWRM) on the Small Islands, creation of a center of excellence or best practices for water and climate security or Center of Excellence on Water and Climate Resilience (COE), as well as the establishment of World Lakes Day.
The Indonesian government has invited 43 ambassadors and four international organizations to participate in the World Water Forum and make the event a success.
