The Ministry of Communications and Information ensures the availability of telecommunications for the World Water Forum

Jakarta (MidLand) – Director General of Information and Public Communication of the Ministry of Communications and Informatics, Usman Kansong, said that the preparation of the telecommunications infrastructure for the World Water Forum (WWF) has been completed at 100%.

Usman said he currently only needs to do the finishing touches, such as tidying up the media center, carrying out rehearsals and sending images to the forum venues to ensure the smoothness and quality of information dissemination during the event.

In an effort to maintain telecommunications networks during the World Water Forum, the Ministry of Communications and Information has taken various mitigation and anticipatory measures.

To anticipate possible interruptions on a telecommunications line, a simulation is carried out so that another line can be used as an alternative. This aims to ensure that internet capacity and speed remain optimal during the event.

“This is to ensure that the internet capacity does not decrease, the speed does not decrease. This is simulated by Telkom. Telkom is the one who manages it here,” Usman said.

The Ministry of Communications and Information also works with the National Cyber ​​and Crypto Agency (BSSN) to ensure data security.

The 10th World Water Forum focused on discussing four themes, namely water conservation (water conservation)clean water and sanitation (clean water and sanitation)food and energy security (food and energy security)as well as mitigate natural disasters (mitigation of natural disasters).

A total of 244 sessions of the forum are expected to provide concrete results regarding the integration of integrated water management for small islands or integrated water resources management (GRI) on small islands, the creation of a center of excellence or best practices for Water and Climate Security or the Center of Excellence on Water and Climate Resilience (COE), as well as the establishment of World Lakes Day.

The Indonesian government has invited 43 ambassadors and four international organizations to participate in the World Water Forum and make the event a success.
