The Ministry of Communication and Information will become the first ministry with offices at the IKN in July 2024

Jakarta (MidLand) – Minister of Communication and Information (Menkominfo) Budi Arie Setiadi said that the Ministry of Communication and Information (Kemenkominfo) will be the ministry that will begin to have its first office in the capital of the archipelago ( IKN) in July 2024.

“We are one of 10 ministries that will have to go to the IKN in July, and we already have 49 people who will go there,” Budi said on Wednesday at the Office of the Ministry of Communications and Information in central Jakarta.

Budi said one of the people who confirmed that they will open an office at IKN from the Ministry of Communications and Information is the Director General of Posts and Information Technology (Dirjen PPI) of the Ministry of Communications and Information, Wayan Tony Supriyanto .

According to him, the director general of the PPI was appointed among the people serving at the IKN because he had to ensure the availability of the telecommunications infrastructure at the IKN.

“This is to be taken into consideration, because a lot of telecommunications-related infrastructure is Mr. Wayan’s business. The General Directorate of PPI takes care of it there too,” Budi said.

In terms of telecommunications support at IKN, the Ministry of Communication and Information ensures that IKN has reliable connectivity provided by one of the state-owned enterprise telecommunications companies (BUMN), PT Telkom Indonesia.

Budi said Telkom is considered a reliable telecommunications service provider for IKN and that this commitment has been strengthened with the construction of other supporting infrastructure.

In addition to connectivity, Telkom is also trusted to provide solutions for data center provisioning, IoT deployment and e-commerce.government.

To strengthen Telkom services, the Ministry of Communications and Information is also preparing connectivity support from the Agency for Accessibility of Telecommunications and Information (BAKTI) if at any time connectivity issues occur at IKN .

The IKN Authority trusts the commitment of the Ministry of Communications and Information in providing connectivity to the IKN to provide support in the form of backup for command center or command center IKN.

The connectivity provided is from the Republic of Indonesia satellite (SATRIA-1) which is located at five points, namely Construction Workers Residential Point, National Axis, Nusantara Hotel, Sepaku Semoi Dam and IKN PLTS .

Earlier on Tuesday (19/3), the State Civil Service Agency (BKN) revealed that there are currently 25 ministries or institutions that have declared their readiness to switch to IKN.

BKN acting head Haryomo Dwi Putranto said that in principle all ASNs working in central entities will be transferred to the IKN.

However, according to him, the transfer will take place in accordance with the scale of priorities and policies of the Ministry for State Apparatus Strengthening and Bureaucratic Reform, Ministry of PANRB.

“BKN also monitors ASN assignments to IKN made by PPK so that they comply with standards, procedures and criteria,” Haryomo said Tuesday during a press conference at the Ministry of Communications and Technology building of the information, in Jakarta.

The 25 ministries or institutions also submitted data relating to the number of ASNs to be transferred. Of the 25 agencies, a total of 2,505 ASNs proposed switching to IKN.
