The director of trade through electronic systems and exchange of services, general directorate of internal trade at the Ministry of Trade (Kemendag), Rifan Ardianto, admitted that he could not confirm the truth of the rumors.

According to him, TikTok Indonesia has so far not communicated plans to open a TikTok Shop, and permission to operate an e-commerce business has not been requested from TikTok Shop Indonesia.

“Regarding the opening of the TikTok store on November 10, I have no news. We have not yet received the permit for e-commerce. We will see later,” Rifan told reporters at the Ministry of Finance in central Moscow on Thursday. Jakarta (10/12/2023).

Previously, it was widely discussed that TikTok Shop would return on November 10, 2023. This news refers to the government’s statement stating that TikTok Shop will be allowed to reopen if it meets the requirements for opening e-commerce in Indonesia.
