Jakarta (MidLand) – The Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan) encourages and facilitates the growth of agricultural enterprises (agripreneurs) run by younger generations so that they can be at the forefront of the development of the agricultural sector.
“We of course encourage the growth of farms run by younger generations so that they can be at the forefront of agricultural development,” said the head of the Ministry of Agriculture’s Public Relations and Information Office, Kuntoro Boga Andri , in a statement in Jakarta. , Saturday.
Kuntoro said his party received a visit from young farmers’ ambassadors representing all provinces in Indonesia on Friday, which is an annual activity of the Agency for Agricultural Extension and Human Resource Development (BPPSDMP) at the Agri-Food Information Center (PIA) of the Ministry of Agriculture. According to Kuntoro, the government is committed to overseeing the regeneration of farmers through efforts to make agriculture a strategic and profitable enterprise or business.
“We are optimistic that not only from an upstream cultivation perspective, but also downstream, these are young ambassador farmers who are also very good at innovation and post-harvest marketing. “They are amazing at mastering the aspects of the agricultural business as a whole and we hope for young farmers like these for the future,” Kuntoro said.

Kuntoro stressed that existing programs at the Ministry of Agriculture through farmers’ regeneration preparation activities have touched many young Indonesians and need to continue to be intensified. According to him, the farmers present today represent the diverse business opportunities and commodities that exist in the agricultural sector.
“This program of the Ministry of Agriculture for the regeneration of farmers is not only active at the level of education and training, but also directly to the beneficiaries of government agricultural programs in various regions. And I see that they (the farmers’ ambassadors of Polbangtan ) have the foundation to become agricultural entrepreneurs, including how to develop agricultural business ideas,” he explained.
Kuntoro hopes that the experience and knowledge possessed by these selected farmer ambassadors can be passed on to other young generations so that they can become a joint movement in developing profitable agricultural businesses.
“I hope they can pass on their experiences, pass on ideas to other farmers in their regions, and I think these farmer ambassadors from 36 provinces can be the forerunners of the progress of our modern agriculture in the future,” Kuntoro explained.
Kuntoro asked the young farmer ambassadors to prioritize the principles of collaboration and strengthen networks in the development of agricultural businesses.
According to him, this is an important impetus for Indonesia to make agriculture a priority sector in development again.
“We advise the young farmers present that being successful is not easy, but the winners are those who manage to overcome various obstacles and obstacles. Once again, the agricultural business has great potential, it is very promising, you can be successful by remaining innovative , enthusiastic and tenacious (persistently) working,” Kuntoro said.
