Jakarta (MidLand) – Minister of Communication and Information (Menkominfo) Budi Arie Setiadi confirmed that the Indonesian capital (IKN) has reliable connectivity provided by one of the state-owned enterprise’s (BUMN) telecommunications companies, PT Telkom Indonesia.
“Be careful, Telkom is ready. The network has already been established by Telkom. Everyone is here who wants to move, right? NO there is a signal,” Budi said at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology office in central Jakarta on Thursday.
Budi said Telkom is considered a reliable telecommunications service provider for IKN and that this commitment has been strengthened with the construction of other supporting infrastructure.
The infrastructure development refers to the construction of the Telkom Smart Office (TSO) IKN, the foundation stone of which was laid in late February 2024, in the direct presence of President Joko Widodo and BUMN Minister Erick Thohir.

At the time, BUMN Minister Erick Thohir even stated that TSO IKN was ready to become the telecommunications hub of the archipelago as soon as possible.
In more detail, IKN Telkom is trusted to provide reliable connectivity through the use of the network spine fiber optic for based services fixed broadband connectionthen there are also Telkomsel’s 4G and 5G cellular, satellite and WiFi services.
In addition to connectivity, Telkom is also trusted to provide solutions for data center provisioning, IoT deployment and e-commerce.government.
To strengthen Telkom services, Budi said the Ministry of Communications and Information is also preparing connectivity support from the Agency for Accessibility of Telecommunications and Information (BAKTI) in case problems arise of connectivity to the IKN.
“BAKTI also provides assistance in several areas place “As a support, nature is safe (connectivity),” Budi said.
The Ministry of Communications and Information BAKTI in providing connectivity to the IKN has the confidence of the IKN Authority to provide support in the form of backup for the command center or command center IKN.
The connectivity provided is from the Republic of Indonesia satellite (SATRIA-1) which is located at five points, namely Construction Workers Residential Point, National Axis, Nusantara Hotel, Sepaku Semoi Dam and IKN PLTS .
