The IPB professor urges people to treat influential information critically
Jakarta (MidLand) – Professor at IPB University (Bogor Agricultural Institute), Prof. Dr. Ir Ujang Sumarwan M Sc calls on people to be critical in responding to information coming from influencers.
The consumer behavior professor said that some can be critical, for example by considering whether information from influencers is paid for what they pass on or not.

Influencers “The neutral person obviously doesn’t get paid when he gives a review, because it’s for consumer protection,” Ujang said during a discussion with reporters at the Vero-YouGov survey delivery event in the Menteng area of Central of Jakarta, Tuesday.

Ujang revealed that in 2022 in Indonesia, the Consumer Empowerment Index will still be below 60. According to him, this index still needs to be improved by providing more education to the public.
Additionally, communications consultant Vero, in collaboration with global market research and data analytics group YouGov, released the results of a comprehensive survey this Tuesday afternoon, involving more than 2,000 respondents from diverse demographic backgrounds.
In the survey, 94% of respondents said their behavioral patterns and purchasing decisions were influenced by influencers (influencer).
