The government values tech companies that groom digital talent
Jakarta (MidLand) – Director General of Higher Education, Research and Technology, Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology, Abdul Haris, appreciated technology companies participating in preparing digital talents in Indonesia .
“I would like to express my deepest appreciation to Huawei Indonesia for providing space for students to learn more about the digital world, which obviously in the future will be the most appropriate step or strategy to equip our children with digital literacy,” Haris said on Tuesday in Jakarta.
Huawei carried out a corporate social responsibility (CSR) activity titled “Huawei Cares – Ramadhan 1445H” by donating telecommunications equipment and supporting teaching and learning activities to numerous Islamic boarding schools and orphanages.

Haris assesses that the support of technology companies such as Huawei in digital education is very significant for the development of Indonesia’s human resources. The ministry, he said, supports various initiatives in an effort to improve the quality of education, including in Islamic colleges.
Haris assessed that this activity demonstrates Huawei’s commitment to developing digital literacy in Indonesia and creating a generation ready to face the future challenges of the digital age.
“We certainly support what has been done to improve the quality of Indonesia’s human resources, and we continue to do so to achieve the centenary of Indonesia’s independence, we will achieve an Indonesia full of quality and advanced human resources to achieve a ‘Golden Indonesia.'” Haris said. .
Meanwhile, Deputy II for Human Development at the Office of the Presidential Staff, Abetnego Tarigan, added that currently society has entered an era where everything uses a digital approach.
For this reason, he encouraged all stakeholders, including the government, private sector, schools and campuses, to improve education in the field of digital technology.

“We hope that Huawei can continue to provide support and contribution in strengthening our capabilities in digital technology not only as users but also as those with innovation and creativity,” he said.
Huawei Indonesia Government Affairs Director Yenty Joman said that since 2020, together with the Presidential Personnel Office, they have started the 100,000 Indonesian Digital Talents Program with the aim of producing 100,000 digital talents by 2024.
Objective achieved last year with a total of 102 thousand digital talents successfully printed. Yenty said this achievement cannot be separated from the role of collaboration and synergy with all parties, including government, partners and academics.
“Going forward, Huawei will continue to be committed to supporting Indonesia in upskilling Indonesia’s young generations so that they are ready and able to make great strides in the digital transformation of the Indonesian ecosystem towards a Golden Indonesia 2045,” Yenty said.
