The government of Bogor Regency ensures logistics for refugees affected by the ammunition depot explosion

“The refugee camps in churches and mosques are now empty because they continue to evacuate independently. They live here (in the village head’s house) which is actively functioning,”

Bogor Regency (MidLand) – The government of Bogor Regency, West Java, ensures logistical availability for residents displaced by their homes affected by the explosion of the Regional Ammunition Warehouse (Gudmurah) of the Jaya Regional Military Command, village of Ciangsana, Gunung Putri District, Bogor Regency.

“Last night we immediately set up a public kitchen, provided blankets, mattresses and other logistics, including health checks by the Regency government’s medical team,” Bogor acting regent Asmawa Tosepu said in Gunung Putri on Sunday.

He said the Bogor Regency government continued to provide this assistance until they were allowed to return to their homes.

Meanwhile, Ciangsana village head Udin Saputra revealed that 324 residents have been displaced so far, including 99 women, 99 men, 40 children, 25 toddlers and 61 residents with contractual status.

The Bogor Regency Government prepared three evacuation locations, namely at the house of the head of Ciangsana village and at the nearest mosque and church.

“The refugee camps in the church and mosque are now empty because they continue to evacuate independently. They live here (in the village head’s house) which is actively functioning,” Udin said.

Bogor Regency social service head Maruf said his party had provided 50 mattresses and blankets to the displaced.

He admitted that he was ready to provide for the needs of the refugees until they were allowed to return to their homes because they were still being sterilized by the TNI.

“We will continue our support until we are declared safe and the refugees can return to their respective places. Then we will wait for information from the authorities. While we are in this place, we work with the village chief to meet all the refugees’ needs until they arrive safely and safe,” Farid said.

Earlier Pangdam Jaya, TNI Maj. Gen. Mohamad Hasan, reminded residents not to bring ammunition shells ricocheting from inside the warehouse into the residential compounds around the blast site at the Regional Ammunition Depot Complex ( Gudmurah) of Kodam Jaya in Ciangsana, Bogor Regency, West Java.

Hasan said TNI AD soldiers from Bogor Kodim Regency and Bekasi Kodim Regency had also been deployed to bypass residential areas to protect ricocheting bullets.

“We have ordered officers to secure any ammunition shells or materials from this warehouse. Don’t take them, hand them over to security,” Pangdam Jaya M. Hasan said.

A total of 15 warehouses at the Regional Ammunition Warehouse Complex (Gudmurah) of Jaya Military Command, Ciangsana, exploded and caught fire on Saturday (30/3) around 18:30 WIB.

Of the dozens of warehouses, one of the warehouses, namely warehouse number 6, stores around 160,000 expired ammunition and explosives returned by various units under Jaya’s military command.

From the investigation results of the Jaya Regional Military Command, Hasan said that so far there have been no casualties as a result of the explosion.

He also said no residents or TNI soldiers were injured as a result of the incident.
