Banda Aceh (MidLand) – The Government of Aceh will grant the same bonus to the gold medal winners at the XVII National Paralympic Solo Week (Peparnas) and the XXI National Sports Week Aceh-North Sumatra (PON) 2024.
“You get the gold immediately because the bonus is the same as the PON Gold Bonus, IDR 300 million, similarly for the silver and bronze medals the bonus will be adjusted,” Acting Aceh Governor Safrizal said on Wednesday ZA, in Banda Aceh.
This statement was made by Safrizal in issuing the statement to the Acehnese athletes of the Indonesian National Paralympic Committee (NPCI) who will compete in Peparnas XVII Solo, Central Java province, from 6 to 13 October 2024.
He asked Aceh’s Paralympic athletes to strive to mobilize all the skills and energy they had trained so far.
“We will go to Solo to gain hope, overcome challenges, fight against forces we are not afraid of, and bring the spirit of the land of Rencong that never gave up,” he said.
He said Peparnas is a sport for people with disabilities, where their weaknesses are their strengths.
“It is Allah SWT who created us with different destinies, not to make us cry, never suudzon to Allah SWT, because no one knows the secret of Allah SWT, maybe tomorrow you will prove that secret to Solo,” Safrizal said.
On this occasion, the head of the Aceh Youth and Sports Service, M. Nasir Syamaun, stated that the Acehnese contingent that went to Peparnas Solo numbered 52 people consisting of 33 athletes, 12 coaches and seven companions.
Peparnas this time, he said, Aceh will compete in eight sports, namely wheelchair fencing, athletics, bowling, table tennis, shooting, chess, weightlifting and badminton.
“In the last Peparnas we won one gold medal, this time we are aiming for three gold medals,” Nasir Syamaun said.
