Medan (MidLand) – The Golkar Party has started to open registration for candidates for mayor and deputy mayor of Medan for the period 2024-2029 if they meet a number of specified conditions, including integrity and eligibility.
“This registration is open to party and non-party cadres, without dowry, without conditions and without specific quotas, just a list of formal requirements to fill out the registration form,” said the head of the mayoral candidate selection team/ The Deputy Mayor of Medan, Zulchari Pahlawan in Medan on Monday.
Continued open registration today until April 23rd. Subsequently, she said the names of the candidates will be submitted to the DPD Golkar of North Sumatra.
“What is being recommended is a policy adopted by the Golkar DPP,” he said.
He further said that Golkar is currently ranked fourth in the DPRD of Medan City.
“For the coalition, we give priority to the Indonesian Advanced Coalition, a priority for party cadres but which is also open to others,” he said.
Zulchari hopes that Bobby Nasution can re-register to run for mayor of Medan City to continue his work program, although registration is open to anyone.
“It should be noted that the Golkar party usually nominates candidates for mayor of Medan, such as Bobby Nasution and Eldin,” he said.
