The free return ship Situbondo-Madura can increase its carrying capacity

Situbondo (MidLand) – The Anchorage Port Authority, Situbondo Regency, East Java has granted a Sailing Approval Letter (SPB) for the free homecoming ferry KMP Wicitra Dharma I to carry passengers exceeding the special capacity for the Eid 2024 transportation.

Coordinator of Anchor Port Service Unit, Situbondo at East Java Province Class II Land Transportation Management Center (BPTD), Ahmad Rozikin in Situbondo, on Thursday, said that shipping companies have proposed to increase capacity passengers to the Indonesian Classification Bureau (BKI).

“Earlier there was a proposal to increase the load or increase the number of passengers from the dispensary’s capacity of 250 passengers to 305 passengers in the second phase of today’s free ride home from Anchor Harbour, Situbondo to Raas Island, Sumenep Regency “, he said.

In addition to this, Rozikin continued, the speedboat ferry is also equipped with safety equipment, such as life jackets and other safety equipment for navigation.

The granting of the KMP Wicitra Dharma I sailing approval letter by BPTD, he said, was also supported by today’s weather conditions in the Madura Strait, which were good and still normal, so sailings were considered safe until the island of Raas.

“The free ferry home specific to the Anchor-Raas route for phase two today left around 19:00 WIB. The number of passengers is 305 and there are 143 motorcycles,” Rozikin said.

The provincial government of East Java facilitates free homecoming and return for Idul Fitri 1445 Hijriah for residents of Raas Island by providing a vessel, namely KMP Wicitra Dharma I, which departs from Anchor Harbour.

A ferry-speedboat unit transports travelers returning home on the ANCHOR-Raas round trip (PP) route free of charge for four trips on April 2, 4, 6 and 8, 2024.

Meanwhile, after Eid, he continued, there will also be three ferry departures from Raas to Anchor, namely on 23, 25 and 27 April 2024.
