The final results for wushu PON XXI, East Java, North Sumatra and Central Java shared seven gold medals
Deli Serdang, North Sumatra (MidLand) – The contingents from East Java, North Sumatra and Central Java shared seven gold medals in the final medal table for wushu at the 21st Aceh-North Sumatra National Sports Week (PON).
Although both won seven gold medals, the East Java contingent won more medals with seven gold, nine silver and nine bronze. This result put them at the top of the final standings.
KONI East Java President M Nabil said that this achievement is the result of a long process of hard training of athletes at the regional training center (puslatda) for the past 2.5 years.
“The children trained morning and afternoon, they also did trials in China, then they also brought foreign coaches. They did serious work,” Nabil said.
Seven gold medals for East Java were awarded by Alisya Mellynar for the women’s taijiquan number, Michael Arroll Nestor Jennings for the men’s Wing Chun taolu wooden dummy + Wing Chun butterfly sword, Jessie Djalimin for the women’s Wing Chun taolu wooden dummy + Wing Chun butterfly sword number.
Next, Muhammad Daffa Golden Boy in the men’s taolu jianshu and qiangshu numbers, Jennifer Tjahyadi in the women’s daoshu and gunshu numbers, Akbar Dwi Affandi/Nicholaus Karanka Adinugroho/Muhammad Zaki Ikbaar Ramadhan in the men’s duilian numbers and Natalie Chriselda Tanasa/Benedicta Rafaella Karolusia Prasetyo in the Duilian Putri.
Meanwhile, nine silver medals were awarded by Muhammad Daffa Golden Boy in men’s changquan, Jennifer Tjahyadi in women’s changquan, Rainer Reinaldy Ferdiansyah in men’s taijiquan, Nicholaus Karanka Adinugroho in men’s nanquan.
Next, Shakira Marini Putri in the female Wing Chun wooden dummy + Wing Chun butterfly sword routine, Ahmad Ghifari Fuaiz in the male jianshu and qiangshu routines, Terrence Tjahyadi in the male nandao and nangun routines.
Aqila Ghaida Fuaizah in the female nandao and nangun numbers, as well as Ahmad Ghifari Fuaiz in the male jianshu and qiangshu numbers, Ahmad Ghifari Fuaiz/Rakay Nobel Ardiansyah/Ahmad Ghozali Fuaiz in the male duilian numbers.
The nine bronze medals were won by Seraf Naro Siregar in the men’s changquan, Akbar Dwi Affandi in the men’s nanquan, Ahmad Ghozali Fuaiz in the men’s nandao and nangun, Alisya Mellynar in the women’s taijijian, Rainer Reinaldy Ferdiansyah in the men’s taijijian.
Next up were Dean Okta Triana in the women’s 52kg Sanda class, Citra Purnamasari Kusuma Ningrum in the women’s 56kg class, Siti Yulaikah in the women’s 60kg class and Zulfikar Ubaidillah Riky in the men’s 56kg class.

The North Sumatra contingent is in second place in the final ranking with seven golds, four silvers and one bronze.
Nicholas won four gold medals in the men’s taijiquan taolu routine and men’s taijijian routine and Harris Horatius in the men’s nanquan routine and men’s nandao and nangun taolu combination.
The remaining three gold medals were won in the sanda category through Fereddy Sinaga in the men’s 52kg class, Samuel Marbun in the men’s 65kg class and Harry Brahmana in the men’s 70kg class.
Four silver medals were won by Elsanda Sitio in the women’s 52 kg class, Elika Br Tarigan in the women’s 60 kg class, Elbi Elisius Brahmana in the men’s 56 kg class and Roberto Manik in the men’s 75 kg class. Ydris Talenta Barus won a bronze in the men’s 48 kg class.
Central Java finished third in the final medal standings with seven golds, three silvers and three bronzes.
A gold medal was donated by Alexandra Calista Setiawan from the women’s taolu taijijian team.
Meanwhile, six gold medals were won by Sanda da Bayu Peni Hendrasswari in the women’s 48kg class, Tharisa Dea Florentina in the women’s 52kg class, Gita Ariesta in the 56kg class, Thania Kusumaningtyas in the women’s 60kg class, Yusuf Widianto in the men’s 56kg class. and Puja Riyaya in the men’s 75kg class.
Three silver medals were won by Rio Noviansyach in the Wing Chun Men’s Wooden Dummy + Wing Chun Butterfly Sword routine, Jessica Antonetta/Evelyn Naura Adelia/Theodora Rosa Santoso in the Duilian Women’s routine and Bintang Reindra Nada Guitara in the Sanda Men’s 60kg class.
Three bronze medals from Central Java were collected by Alexandra Calista Setiawan in the women’s taijiquan competition, Bayu Raka Putra sanda in the men’s 65kg class and M.Subeki in the men’s 70kg class.
DKI Jakarta had to settle for fourth place with six gold medals, four silver and seven bronze.
The six gold medals were awarded by Edgar Xavier Marvelo in the men’s chanquan and men’s daoshu and gunshu, Eugenia Diva Widodo in the women’s changquan, Patricia Geraldine in the women’s jianshu and qiangshu, Agni Agustine Dimonim in the women’s nandao and nangun, and Jumanta in the 60kg sanda class.
Meanwhile, Salwaa Dhana Azalia won four silvers in women’s taijiquan and women’s taijijian routines, Alinskha Hanamaira in women’s nanquan routine and Eugenia Diva Widodo in women’s daoshu and gunshu routines.
Seven bronzes for DKI Jakarta were won by Andrea Simon in women’s changquan, Agni Agustine Dimonim in women’s nanquan, Ivana Beatrice L in women’s daoshu and gunshu, Keane McLaren Lee in men’s jianshu and qiangshu.
Next up were Carlson Sasmita in the Men’s Wing Chun Wooden Dummy + Wing Chun Butterfly Sword routine, Riki Aditia in the Men’s 52kg Sanda class and Boston Siagian in the Men’s 56kg class.
The West Java contingent was in second place with two gold medals and five bronze. The gold medals were provided by Tasya Ayu Puspa Dewi from the women’s Nanquan and Ade Permana from the men’s 48kg Sanda class.
Meanwhile, five bronze medals were won by Tasya Ayu Puspa Dewi in women’s nandao and nangun, N Diana Ratna in women’s 48kg class, Ebina Saputri Sunarya in women’s 56kg class, Kamal Maulansyah in men’s 60kg class and Iman Lesmana in men’s 60kg class. men’s 75kg class.
Winning three silver medals in the sanda event took Aceh to sixth place in the final medal standings. The three silver medals were won by Novriza Raihanda in the women’s 48 kg class, Khairil Walidi in the men’s 52 kg class and Rahmad Dwi Kurniawan in the men’s 70 kg class.
Yogyakarta followed with two silvers and a bronze. Juan Hendy Irmanto contributed a silver and a bronze, in the men’s taijijian and men’s taijiquan events respectively. Meanwhile, Muhammad Rizqi Kurniawan won another silver in the men’s daoshu and gunshu routines.
South Sumatra also won two silvers and a bronze in the sanda event. Silver medals were won by Rahmad Hidayat in the men’s 48 kg class and M. Akbar Rizky Dwi Putra in the men’s 65 kg class, as well as a bronze medal by Firand Andista in the men’s 75 kg class.
The next place is occupied by Jambi with one silver and seven bronzes. Melisa Try Andani won a silver in the women’s 56kg sanda class.
Meanwhile, Veren Aprillia won bronze with women’s jianshu and qiangshu routines, Sukma Tri Nur Azizah with women’s Wing Chun wooden dummy + Wing Chun butterfly sword routines.
Next up were Candika Nugraha/Zio Catriadi in the men’s duilian, Anastasya Astuti/Veren Aprillia/Ananda Sri Mardiana in the women’s duilian, Dewi Erviani in the women’s 48 kg class, Anggi Natalia Siahaan in the 60 kg class and Raymond Chan in the 52 kg class.
Bali stole a silver from the women’s jianshu and qiangshu numbers through Orchyda Tsabita Phasha Rahadi. East Kalimantan followed with two bronzes from Rafi Alharist in the men’s 48kg sanda class and Muhammad Abian in the men’s 65kg class.
The next ranking was occupied by four provinces, each of which won a bronze medal.
Lampung bronze was donated by A. Zahro in the women’s 52kg sanda class. North Moluccas bronze was obtained by Sunan Agung Amoragam in the 60kg class.
Melvern Liang Alianto contributed bronze medals for East Nusa Tenggara in the men’s daoshu and gunshu events, and Handi Supriyanto won bronze for North Sulawesi in the men’s 70kg sanda class.
Thus, a total of 29 gold medals, 29 silver medals and 40 bronze medals were contested by athletes in the 29 events in which they were held.
Vice President General I of the Indonesian Wushu Executive Committee (PB WI), Iwan Kwok, admitted that he was satisfied with the performance of the athletes. He assessed that the level of play, both in taolu and sanda, has increased, as evidenced by the many young athletes who have won medals.
He hopes these accomplished athletes will be able to improve their skills so they can compete on a bigger stage.
“For the athletes who have received gold medals, after finishing this PON, after receiving awards, receiving bonuses, they are not enjoying those bonuses. They have to go back to ground zero to train again because the SEA Games are waiting for them,” he concluded.
