The Deputy Minister of Communication and Information highlighted the importance of increasing cybersecurity
Jakarta (MidLand) – Deputy Minister of Communication and Information (Wamenkominfo) Nezar Patria highlighted the importance of increasing cybersecurity, calling it a crucial element in the national digital transformation.
“It is important for all of us to continue improving cybersecurity in the context of the growing digital transformation agenda,” Nezar said on Thursday in Jakarta.
Cybersecurity attacks are likely to increase as the adoption of digital technology increases.
The results of the Allianz Commercial Survey 2023 show that global cybersecurity risks in 2023 will increase by 30% compared to 2019.
According to the survey results, global cybersecurity risks, which stood at 40% in 2019, will increase to 77% in 2023.
According to Google M-Trends 2024, the financial sector is an easy target for cyber attacks.

Nezar said Indonesia is not immune to cyberattacks by irresponsible actors.
According to findings from the National Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN), Indonesia is often the main source and destination of cybersecurity anomalies.
Nezar said cybersecurity anomalies can impact the reduced performance of devices and telecommunications networks, which can potentially cause data theft and reduce reputation and trust in an organization.
Therefore, the Deputy Minister of Communication and Information calls on all parties to work together to improve cybersecurity.
“In the national landscape, our cybersecurity ecosystem still needs to be strengthened,” he said.
Nezar highlighted the importance of increasing human resource capacity in an effort to optimize national cybersecurity.
In an effort to realize cybersecurity, according to him, technology users can regularly fill gaps in cybersecurity strategy in environments connected to digital networks, including generative artificial intelligence technology currently in development.
