Manado (MidLand) – The Bitung (Pemkot) city government is releasing various products for export to several countries in the East Asia region to support the export performance of North Sulawesi (Sulut).
Bitung Mayor Maurits Mantiri in Bitung on Thursday said exports to East Asia are a strategic step to expand regional export markets, strengthen international trade relations and support local economic growth.
“This export involves various sectors, including agricultural products, fishing and manufacturing,” Maurits said.
Economic actors in North Sulawesi hope that this export can be a driver of significant economic growth.
The release of this export was marked by ribbon cutting by the Deputy Governor of North Sulawesi, the Indonesian Ambassador to the PRC and the Mayor of Bitung.
The release of the export products is a historic event that reflects the vision and mission of the provincial government to make North Sulawesi the gateway to the dynamic and internationally competitive economy of eastern Indonesia.
The North Sulawesi Provincial Government inaugurated the maiden voyage of the SITC Container Line cargo ship MV SITC Batangas Voy.2403 N, which was the first step in making Bitung Port the gateway for North Sulawesi exports to the East Asian market.
During this maiden voyage, a number of North Sulawesi agricultural and seafood products that had passed quarantine measures were also exported to several East Asian countries, such as Japan, South Korea, and China.
The exported agricultural and fishery products consist of three containers of frozen coconut milk (78.12 tons), 1 container of coconut flour (26.26 tons), 2 containers of dried smoked fish (48 tons) and 1 container of other fishery products (25.26 tonnes). 45 tons).
The North Sulawesi Animal, Fish and Plant Quarantine Center, represented by Plant Quarantine Team Leader Dwi Rachmanto and Fish Quarantine Team Leader Steven Manoppo, as well as other quarantine officials, handed over the certificates of quarantine.
The Quarantine Party ensures and guarantees that exported plant and fish products are in healthy condition and disease-free so that they can safely sail to the destination country.
