The 7 best campuses in the world according to THE WUR 2024, Oxford University in the lead
TIME.CO, Jakarta – Higher Education Classification Agency Times Higher Education World University Rankings (THE WUR) announced the list again best campus in the world in 2024. The assessment underlying this ranking covers five areas, namely teaching, research environment, research quality, industry and international outlook. At least, there are 1,904 universities spread across 108 countries and regions around the world included in THE WUR evaluation.
Based on the results of the THE evaluation, the University of Oxford in England was awarded the title of the best university in the world. See the list of the 7 best campuses in the world according to THE WUR 2024 ranking published on September 27.
1. University of Oxford
The University of Oxford received an average rating from THE of 98.5 points. This campus received a perfect score in the research environment assessment. As the best campus in the world, Oxford University now has 42% international students.
There are four academic divisions at Oxford University, within which there are many departments, faculties and schools. First, there is the Division of Humanities which houses nine faculties and the Ruskin School of the Arts. Secondly, the Division of Mathematics, Physics and Life Sciences which houses the non-medical sciences at Oxford. Third, the Medical Division is the largest of the four academic divisions of the University of Oxford. Furthermore, it is internationally recognized as a center of excellence for biomedical and clinical research and teaching.

2. Stanford University
The campus, founded nearly 150 years ago, is ranked second best campus in the world in 2024 by THE WUR. For the overall rating of the five fields, Stanford University scored 98.0 with details, the field of teaching 99.0, the field of research environment 97.8, the field of quality of research 99.6, the industrial field 100.0 and the international perspectives field 87.0.
Over the past four years, Stanford University’s ranking has seen increases and decreases. In 2020, Stanford University ranked 4th and rose to 2nd place in 2021. In 2022, it fell to 4th place again and moved up one notch to 3rd place in 2023. Now, the Stanford University is again in 2nd place.
Of the total students at Stanford University, 23% are international students.
3. Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT)
In third place on the list of the best campuses in the world is MIT. This campus in Cambridge, USA received an average rating of 97.9 points with details in the teaching area of 98.6, research environment area of 96.2, research quality area of 99.7 , industrial area of 100.0 and international area of prospects of 93.8.
For 2024, MIT has seen an increase in ranking. Because from 2020 to 2023, MIT remained in 5th place, while today there are as many as 33% international students on the MIT campus. 4. Harvard University

5. Cambridge University

This campus received a rating with details in the teaching area of 96.3, research environment area of 97.9, research quality area of 98.9, industrial area of 95.1 and international outlook area of 89.1.
By 2024, the campus, founded in 1746, will move up one level. In ratings for 2022 and 2023, Princeton University is ranked 7th.
7. California Institute of Technology (Caltech)
Caltech received an average rating of 96.5 from THE. This 300-acre campus is an independent educational institution in Pasadena, California, supported by the private sector.
Caltech-owned faculties include the Faculty of Biology and Biological Engineering, the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Sciences, the Faculty of Geology and Planetary Sciences, the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, and the Faculty of Physics, Mathematics and Astronomy Sciences.
