Thanks to the BRI KlasterkuHidupku, the company’s production of Endog Lewo Garut has increased
Jakarta (MidLand) – The BRI KlasterkuHidupku program has succeeded in making economic actors members of the Endog Lewo Business Cluster feel that their production process has become smoother, resulting in an increase in production.
The productive activities of Endog lewo carried out in each house support the economic activities of the community in the Kampung Lewo area, Malangbong district, Garut regency.
Endog Lewo Business District Head Dadan Nurjaman said the Endog Lewo home business has existed and has been going on for decades in Lewo village. The business he started was also passed down through his family.
“Now there are 10 members who have joined this business cluster. So its function is that of a community to help other members of the group because our production process is still carried out in a traditional way. From the past, when we wanted to produce , we never purchased materials from outside.”Usually each person has their own garden or land to grow their own ingredients,” Dadan said.
As the name suggests, the products made by this business cluster focus on endog lewo, which consists of different variations in shape and taste.
“Shape variations include flat, small and large. Different shapes, different ingredients. For this flattened, use large slices of onion. The small Endog Lewo is the old school Endog Lewo that was popular in the 1970s. Now the trend is big and crunchy snack ball how’s that. “Well, the flavor variations are spicy and original,” Dadan continued.
In 2023, the Endog Lewo Business Cluster received support from the BRI KlasterkuHidupku program, thus giving hope to its business.
“Initially it was my initiative to look for information to get assistance to businesses, then there was information about assistance from the BIS. From there we started to register this business cluster. “We sent a proposal, then finally there was a request for assistance from the BIS,” Dadan said.
The aid received concerns tools that help the production process, such as stoves high pressure, pan, grinder, roasting tube, molding container and dough machine. Dadan admitted that this assistance made the production process smoother, so much so that there was an increase in member production.
“Of course there has been an increase in production, now on average we can produce about 400 kg per month. In the past this was not the case. “The price per kilogram is about IDR 35 thousand, so obviously it increases the members’ income,” he said .
In addition to help in the form of production equipment, the Endog Lewo Business Cluster has also received invitations several times bazaar or show to event-event The BRI is like Simpedes’ People’s Party. This makes the Endog Lewo Business Cluster increasingly known to the public.
“Thank God, thanks to BIS assistance, members are more and more enthusiastic about carrying out production, the process seems lighter. “The hope is that this collaboration can continue and that we get assistance from other BRI programs to improve the activities of the group”, concluded Dadan.
On another occasion, Supari, director of BIS Micro Business, added that the Business Cluster program “Klasterkujiwaku” is a forum that can be used by MSME actors to develop their business. With this empowerment and assistance, SMEs can develop their products and expand their businesses.
“We are committed to continuing to accompany and help MSMEs, not only in the form of business capital, but also in the form of business training and other empowerment programs, so that MSMEs can grow and be resilient. “We hope that the story of Business Cluster Endog Lewo Garut can become an inspiring story that can be imitated by MSMEs in other sectors,” Supari said.
