Ten Hag said the match against Luton was proof of MU’s tenacity of character
we have to prove ourselves
Jakarta (MidLand) – The manager of Manchester United (MU) said that the match against Luton Town in week 25 of the Premier League at Kenilworth Road, Sunday at 11.30pm WIB will be a test of the character of his team, which in 2024 is undefeated in all competitions.
From six matches in all competitions in 2024, the Reds Devils have achieved five wins with one draw. Ten Hag also wants his troops to continue the positive trend when they compete at Kenilworth Road.
“We have to take it game by game, every game for us is a cup final. “And what is certain is that this is a great test for us, a great test of character,” Ten Hag said, quoted on Sunday via the club’s official website.
He wants Bruno Fernandes and his teammates not to underestimate the team coached by Rob Edwards in the next match even if they are now in 17th place in the table with just one point above the relegation zone.
The reason, Ten Hag said, is that the team nicknamed The Hatters are in good shape in 2024 as they have only one defeat in seven games in all competitions.
“And now we have to prove ourselves on Sunday there because this has been a very good team all season, but especially recently they have raised their standards. “They improved their performance,” said the Dutch coach.
“They have achieved good results, so we have to play as best we can, but we are capable of doing it. “This is what we have shown in the last few weeks, where we have shown a good level,” she added.
Ahead of matchweek 25, the Red Devils are now in sixth position with 41 points, six points behind fifth-placed Tottenham Hotspur who have just suffered a home defeat against visiting team Wolverhampton Wanderers with a score of 1- 2.
The victory will move MU closer to the top five places of the table with a difference of three points and will open up the opportunity for them to compete to finish in the Champions League zone next season.
“We have to improve our game and raise our standards and there is still room for improvement, and we have to prove it on Sunday,” he stressed.
