Tafsir Al-Mishbah by Quraish Shihab is available in an application form, facilitates learning Tafsir Al-Quran

TIME.CO, Jakarta – Quraish Shihab together with its Al-Quran Study Center officially launched the Tafsir Al-Mishbah application in Jakarta on Tuesday, October 31, 2023. This application is a digital version of 15 books Tafsir Al-Mishbah in Indonesian which was published in 2000. Now the Tafsir Al-Mishbah application is now available and can be downloaded via the Play Store.

Currently this application is only available for Android users. The Tafsir Al-Mishbah application is available in two versions.

In the standard version users can use the application for free but in a limited way. Meanwhile, full access to the application is available in the premium or paid version. Users can get full access at any time by paying IDR 500 thousand.

While Al-Quran There is already an Indonesian translation, but Quraish Shihab stressed that this is not sufficient. “We need to know the translation, but the translation is not enough. Interpretations may vary,” he said.

App Technology Consultant Tafsir Al-Mishbah Arkka Dhiratara said that this application mainly targets two groups, namely researchers and beginners. Researchers are defined as a group of people who are skilled in interpretation and who wish to carry out further research. Meanwhile, beginners mean people who have just started learning the interpretation of the Quran.

“So, we want to summarize the Tafsir Al-Mishbah from two points of view, both by sequence of verses and by topic. So that beginners can focus on finding topics related to their needs,” Arkka said.

Each theme in this interpretation has its own subtheme. The level of depth also varies. If they are interested in certain keywords, users can search on that topic.

“Just enter it into the application. The application will direct you, this keyword is in any theme, in any letter or verse. Then we can do our exploration,” Arkka said.

Long story short, Quraish Shihab wrote Tafsir Al-Mishbah

Quraish Shihab wrote this commentary when he was Indonesian ambassador to Egypt. Initially he intended to write only four volumes. However, he felt that he was given ease and fluency in writing interpretations of up to 15 volumes.

“(Tafsir) was completed in 3 and a half years. On average I wrote 10 hours a day, because I couldn’t stop,” Quraish Shihab said at the release of Tafsir Al-Mishbah’s application.

This, according to Quraish Shihab, proves that Allah SWT makes the process easier. He said that he did not feel any difficulty in writing Tafsir Al-Mishbah. She felt these conveniences from the beginning of writing the commentary, and she did not notice them until the commentary book was finished.

“I never imagined there would be a digital version, but there is, because God promised,” Quraish Shihab said.

The Expert Council of the Center for Quran Studies and Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Nahdlatul Ulama Ulil Abshar Abdalla, as a reader, admitted that he was very happy with the presence of Tafsir Al-Mishbah in 2000. “Not everyone gets given the gift opportunity to complete a work like this.
