STY asked fans to “cheer” on the national team players ahead of the match against Australia

Jakarta (MidLand) – Indonesian Under-23 national team coach Shin Tae-yong (STY) has called for the full support of the Indonesian people to “cheer” the Garuda Muda players ahead of the second match of the Under-23 Asian Cup in Qatar 2024 Group A vs Australia at Abdullah bin Khalifa Stadium, Thursday (18/4) at 8pm WIB.

STY said this because he wanted to see his players enthusiastic again after seeing the condition of his players appearing to worsen after losing in the controversial first match with a score of 0-2 against hosts Qatar at Jassim bin Hamad Stadium , Monday (15/4) So.

In that match, Indonesia was frustrated due to several damaging decisions made by on-field referee Nasrullo Kabirov and video assistant referee (VAR) Sivakorn Pu-Udom.

“There was really injustice in the referee’s decision yesterday, so the players’ mood was very low,” South Korea’s coach said in an official PSSI statement in Jakarta on Wednesday.

“We therefore ask for the full support of the Indonesian people to the players so that they can be entertained by the community and can be even more enthusiastic than before,” he added.

As a coach, STY also carries out his task of restoring enthusiasm to his players after the defeat against Qatar.

Currently, a day before the match against Australia, STY explained that the conditions of its players are slowly improving and that they have been working hard in training to chase the first three points.

“Because there is another match tomorrow, I will try to entertain the players. And the players listened and were able to train and work well,” she said.

“Today, since the match is one day away, we cannot train at high intensity, but we focus on tactical preparation to anticipate the match between Australia and Jordan,” he added.

Commenting on Australia’s first match, when they were held 0-0 by Jordan at Abdullan bin Khalifa Stadium, on Monday (15/4), STY assessed that the young Socceroos played better but were simply unlucky in terms of goals.

“Australia’s performance is better than Jordan’s. Simply no goals scored. But I think Australia is better,” he explained.

Furthermore, in the next match, Garuda Muda has the potential to get new ammunition after the Indonesian player who plays for the Japanese club Cerezo Osaka, Justin Hubner, arrives in Qatar on Thursday morning local time.

“After the Japan Cup match, Justin went straight from the stadium to the airport and will probably arrive in Doha tomorrow morning,” he concluded.
