Jakarta (MidLand) – The legal team of PT Starlink Services Indonesia has confirmed that it has fulfilled all the necessary permits to operate in Indonesia.
“Starlink’s legal entity status and licenses have all been in accordance with the applicable provisions, if applicable in the Perkominfo Regulations, the permits, the legal entity have all been executed in accordance with the applicable regulations,” said one of the representatives of Starlink Services Indonesia Legal Team, Krishna Vesa, in Jakarta, Wednesday.
Krishna also stressed that Starlink did not receive preferential treatment from the government in the process of obtaining permission to sell services in the country.

Starlink, he said, followed the same procedures as other companies to obtain authorization as an internet service provider in Indonesia.
Krishna also said that all clearances, including the Network Operations Center (NOC) and gateway station, were complete and compliant with legal norms.
“All the infrastructure that the law requires to exist in Indonesia is all in Indonesia, including the mechanism to block illegal content, we can do it from Indonesia, and control the traffic and security, everything that is required we can do from Indonesia,” he said.
The party is committed to maintaining and complying with existing regulations in Indonesia without any exceptions.
As for allegations that Starlink engaged in selling assets below principal price or “predatory pricing,” Krishna strongly denies this.
“Predatory pricing does not exist, it does not exist at this moment and the promotions carried out by Starlink are normal things, permitted by law,” he said.
Another representative from PT Starlink Services Indonesia’s legal team, Verry Iskandar, added that the allegations of predatory pricing against Starlink were unfounded.
According to him, price promotion carried out by Starlink is a legitimate business practice and has a time limit, unlike “predatory pricing” which usually does not have a time limit until competitors are eliminated from the market.
Verry also stressed that Starlink is committed to providing high-speed and high-quality Internet services in Indonesia and is ready to cooperate with various parties to improve efficiency and service to consumers.
“So as far as ‘predatory pricing’ goes, it actually doesn’t exist at all. So we vehemently deny that it doesn’t exist and the price promotions that are carried out also have a time limit,” Verry said.
Starlink has officially operated in Indonesia. The owner, Elon Musk, symbolically inaugurated the company’s services in Bali on May 19, 2024.
Like PJI, Starlink has obtained satellite landing rights and a space radio license with a validity period of one year with six types of equipment that have been certified, including gateway antennas, routers and user terminal antennas, to operate in Indonesia.
In addition to this, Starlink has received a certificate of operational suitability for the operation of closed networks via VSAT and the provision of multimedia services for Internet access services, as well as permits for the operation of closed fixed networks for VSAT media and the provision of services multimedia for Internet access services.
Starlink is also known to offer a 40% discount on device sales in Indonesia until June 10th. With this discount, Starlink devices are offered at IDR 4.68 million from IDR 7.8 million.
