Specialist students of the UGM Faculty of Medicine will receive remuneration for services from Sardjito Hospital

TIME.CO, Jakarta – Good news for specialist and subspecialist students in medical school, Public Health and Nursing from Gadjah Mada University or UGM carrying out clinical training at Dr Sardjito Central General Hospital. Director of Dr. Sardjito Yogyakarta Hospital will provide compensation for their services.

This policy is contained in Joint Commitment Number HK.03.01/0.X1/19133/2023 on Service Fees for Specialized Students which was published on 5 September 2023. According to RSUP Principal Director Dr. Sarjito, Dr. Eniarti, the issuance of this commitment does not only concern the Cardiovascular Thoracic Surgery Study Program and the Plastic Surgery Study Program.

“God willing, FKKMK UGM-Dr Sardjito Hospital will be opened soon, but for all study programs at Dr Sardjito General Hospital as the main educational hospital of FK KMK UGM,” Eniati said, Thursday, September 7, 2023.

On this topic, he continued, the rules derived from the Health Law and Government Regulations and the technical instructions are awaited, based on the financial capacity of the Hospital that has implemented the Financial Management of the Public Service Organization (PPK-BLU). It was therefore implemented after the legislation derived from the Health Law n. 17 of 2023.

He said this step represents an effort to organize a dignified educational process for students of the Specialty Medical Education Program, giving priority to quality of service and patient safety in the provision of healthcare services to the community.

Waiting for derived rules

Regarding service fees or incentives, Eniarti points out that technical issues are still being discussed. Currently his party is still waiting for the rules derived from law number 17 of 2023 on healthcare so that compensation for services can be guaranteed immediately.

He has promised that when the government regulation is issued, the technical instructions for its management will be prepared. “Of course it has to comply with the provisions of the Public Services Agency’s financial management model,” he said.

Even if they receive a fee for the services, Eniarti stressed that FK KMK must still undertake to pay it cost of education as well as joint support for the infrastructure needed by RSUP Dr. Sardjito students. This commitment, she explained, is in line with the rules and agreements regarding unit costs for students.
