SpaceX’s Dragon spacecraft successfully carries 4 astronauts to the ISS: Okezone techno

JAKARTA – SpaceX’s Dragon spacecraft successfully delivered four astronauts to the International Space Station (ISS) Sunday evening (8/27/2023). After arriving on the ISS, the four astronauts from the United States, Europe, Japan and Russia will begin working in Earth orbit for six months.

The four astronauts include Jasmin Moghbeli from the United States, Andreas Mogensen Mogensen from Europe, Konstantin Borisov from the Russian agency Roscosmos and Satoshi Furukawa from Japan. The quartet is the first international crew, with members from four different space agencies and countries, to fly on the same Dragon capsule.

Dragon aircraft captain Jasmin Moghbeli of NASA said he was delighted to be able to fly Dragon to the ISS. “Thank you so much, I always remind myself this is not a dream,” he said.

It is known that the journey to reach the ISS is not an easy task. Jasmin Moghbeli has to spend 30 hours non-stop gliding from Earth to the ISS. It is known that the Dragon spacecraft was launched this Saturday (8/26/2023).

Except that this tiring journey was very precious because the mission completed by the four astronauts was a strategic mission.

“This is the first step of this journey, the real mission starts now,” said Andreas Mogensen. “We have a lot of work to do on the International Space Station,” he added.

Space said the four astronauts immediately joined the seven astronauts who were already on the station.

For SpaceX, this spaceflight record further enhances their capabilities. This mission is SpaceX’s seventh operational crewed commercial flight for NASA and the eighth for the U.S. space agency overall (including crewed test flights).

This is SpaceX’s eleventh crewed mission, including three private astronaut flights in recent years.

Unsurprisingly, Elon Musk appreciates this success. “Dragon can finally connect with the ISS. This is extraordinary considering both are moving at 25 times the speed of sound,” he tweeted on the X platform.
