SpaceX launches portable Starlink Mini for IDR 9.8 million
Jakarta (MidLand) – SpaceX has launched Starlink Mini, a more portable version of its satellite internet product, small enough to fit in a backpack.
The first Starlink customers have been invited to purchase a Starlink Mini kit for $599 (around Rp. 9.8 million), according to an invitation sent to customers and seen by TechCrunch.
This price is 100 US dollars (about 1.6 million rupees) more expensive than the standard Starlink kit. They also have the option to combine the Mini Roam service with their existing service package for an additional US$30 (Rs 493,000) per month, although data is limited to 50 gigabytes per month.

This means that residential Starlink customers with a standard service package will spend US$150 per month (approximately IDR 2.5 million). SpaceX aims to lower the price of the equipment, the invitation reads. There is currently no standalone Mini Roam plan.
SpaceX’s goal is to lower the price of Starlink for communities around the world where connectivity is inaccessible or simply unavailable.
“But in high-usage areas, where Starlink Mini places additional demand on satellite networks, we offer Starlink Mini kits in limited quantities starting at $599,” the invitation reads.

The Mini antenna is very light, weighing approximately 2.5 pounds with mount, only about 60% of the weight of a standard Starlink antenna. The service also offers maximum download speeds of over 100 Mbps.
The first Starlink Mini will arrive in July. This option is thought to be attractive to travelers, and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk told X that the Mini could be a good low-cost option for a good backup internet connection if the landline goes down.
Starlink is SpaceX’s popular satellite internet product, currently supported by more than 6,000 satellites in orbit. The service has more than 3 million customers in 100 countries. This was broadcast by TechCrunch, Thursday (6/20).
