Sony brings new Mirrorless camera to Indonesia with prices starting from IDR 20 million: Okezone techno

JAKARTA – Sony Electronics has once again brought its new mirrorless camera to Indonesia. The device introduced is the Sony α6700 which is said to be able to meet the photography and videography needs of those in the creative industry.

At the launch event on Friday (01/08/2023), PT Sony Indonesia President and Director Yoshiyuki Fujioka revealed that the α6700 mirrorless camera is equipped with high-quality features and image performance.

According to him, this product is designed for hybrid shooting capable of producing photos and videos in various situations such as weddings, travel, street photography and portraits.

“With a compact design and combined with a 26.0-megapixel APS-C back-illuminated Exmor R CMOS image sensor, the α6700 is Sony’s most advanced APS-C mirrorless camera to date,” he said.

The Sony α6700 camera supports high-resolution 4K video capture at up to 120 fps. This device also features a dynamic range of over 14 stops to capture details in low-light conditions.

In addition to this, the α6700 also features the S-Cinetone picture profile from the professional Sony Cinema Line. Provides a striking appearance of human skin color.

In addition to the α6700 camera, Sony also introduced the G Master SEL1635GM2 wide-angle zoom lens as a 35mm E-mount full-frame Alpha lens covering focal lengths from 16mm to 35mm.

Fujioka has revealed that the latest lens’s maximum aperture is F2.8 across the entire zoom range, aimed at producing landscape photos and commercial videos.

“The SEL1635GM2 meets the needs of photographers and videographers looking for a high-performance lens, with the descriptive power and high-speed AF (autofocus) unique to the G Master,” said Fujioka.

“You can maximize the high performance of a sophisticated camera body. Plus, with the world’s smallest and lightest format, this lens will optimize agile shooting,” he continued.

Sony also launched the ECM-M1, the world’s first shotgun microphone with eight selectable audio recording modes. With 4 microphone capsules and unique beamforming, this microphone offers a variety of modes.

The ultra-directional mode captures targeted sounds from the front and at the same time effectively suppresses other sounds, dynamically adapting to the surrounding ambient sound.

As for the price, the α6700 mirrorless camera is priced at IDR 22 million (body) and IDR 23 million (SELP1650 kit). The G Master SEL1635GM2 wide-angle zoom lens sells for IDR 36 million, and the ECM-M1 shotgun microphone is priced at IDR 5 million.
