Snapchat will introduce a feature for creating AR filters with artificial intelligence
Jakarta (MidLand) – Snapchat will present an artificial intelligence (AI) feature with which it is possible to create special effects augmented reality (AR) while recording or taking photos.
Reported by The Verge on Thursday, this feature allows users to get creative in creating unique filters simply by using text instructions. Photos using filter creations can also be shared with other users.
For example, when a user writes the text “1950s science fiction movie”, Snapchat will produce a filter that will make the appearance and surroundings captured by the camera look like classic 1950s science fiction (sci-fi) movies .
Snapchat users will be able to access lenses with this AI model in the coming months. Meanwhile, creators will be able to make various goals from this model later this year.

Beyond that, Snapchat also features a number of new AI features that can make it easier for creators to create custom AR effects.
Some of these features are now available with the latest Lens Studio update, including new face effects that allow creators to write instructions or upload images to create custom lenses that completely change the user’s face.
These new features also include so-called Immersive ML, which is said to be able to apply realistic transformations to a user’s face, body and environment in real time.
Other AI tools coming to Lens Studio allow lens makers to generate 3D effects based on text or image signals, create facial masks and textures, and create 3D character heads that mimic user expressions.
Over the past year, Snapchat has rolled out several new AI features, including one that lets users send AI-generated photos to friends. Snapchat also launched an AI chatbot based on ChatGPT last year.
