Selangor won RCTI Premium Sport after beating Persija 1-0

Jakarta (MidLand) – Selangor FC won the RCTI Premium Sports mini tournament after winning 1-0 over Persija Jakarta, in the RCTI Premium Sports first place match at the Jakarta International Stadium, Jakarta, on Sunday.

The nicknamed Malaysian team Red giant was a sensation from the start. The match had only started three minutes, Ahmad Zikri sent a cross into the Persija penalty area which was met by Alvin Mateus Fortes’ header. 1-0 for Selangor.

Persija tried to respond with Rayhan Hannan’s kick which Selangor goalkeeper Muhammad Azim managed to save. Subsequently, Persija, strengthened by most of their young players, found it difficult to create dangerous chances against Selangor’s defence, while Selangor provided the final threat before half-time with a free kick from one of their foreign players , Jose Orozco Cujia, which goalkeeper Cahya Supriadi managed to save. Persija striker Aji Kusuma finally had a chance, but his shot went straight to goalkeeper Muhammad Azim. 1-0 for Selangor to close the first half.

After the break, Persija once again tried to score the equaliser. Akbar Arjunsyah’s header went wide of the Selangor goal, while Firza Andika’s free kick near the opposition’s penalty area was still blocked by the defender. Aji Kusuma had another chance when he had space to shoot, but his shot was still aimed directly at the Selangor goalkeeper. Not long ago, Persija’s goal came under threat when Selangor winger Muhammad Mukhairi fired a shot which was blocked by goalkeeper Chya.

Before the end of regulation time, several spectators set off flares in different sectors of the stadium’s stands. The smoke that rose thick then disturbed the players and the match could not continue, so much so that Selangor was declared the winner and champion.
