Scientists predict the location of a new Earth-like planet: Okezone techno
A GROUP scientists predict the location of a new planet similar to Earth. They say the planet could circle the Sun in an orbit beyond Neptune.
As is known, there are eight planets in the solar system, namely Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and the last one is perhaps Planet Nine.
Quoted from BBC newsOn Monday (9/18/2023), Japanese astronomers, including the country’s National Astronomical Observatory, released their research showing the possibility that a ninth Earth-like planet may be hiding in the Kuiper Belt or closer than previously thought.
For your information, according to NASA, the Kuiper Belt is a donut-shaped region of icy objects outside the orbit of Neptune and the farthest in the solar system.
In the Astronomical Journal, researchers found that the behavior of some objects in the Kuiper Belt suggests that there may be small planets among them.
Astronomers estimate that the new planet could be three times larger than Earth, but it will not host life as we know it because it is too cold.
