Samsung develops mobile phones with roll-up screens for 2025: Okezone techno
JAKARTA – Samsung is said to release a Galaxy phone with a sliding screen in 2025. The South Korean company is quite confident that it will become a trendsetter after the success of the foldable screen on the Galaxy Z Fold and Flip.
The “Rollable Flex” device was recently announced by Samsung Display in May. In the first models on display you can see that the screen can be rolled up like a tube.
Even so, Samsung said this model was just a concept. In principle, they will adopt this screen in smartphones that will be mass-produced within the next two years, quoted by Technology radarFriday (8/25/2023).
The rumored roll-screen Galaxy will have a bezel-less OLED screen with an improved Under Panel (UPC) camera design. As a result, the device doesn’t have to sacrifice screen size to accommodate the camera, as the camera is hidden under the screen.
In addition, roller screens are believed to have the advantage of being more durable and less prone to damage than regular screens. However, the presence of this scrolling screen can interfere with the motor system of the mobile phone.
