Samsung adds three language support to Galaxy AI

Three languages ​​have been added to Galaxy AI, namely Indonesian, Arabic and Russian. In spring 2024, Samsung will add three new dialects, namely the Australian dialect for English, the Cantonese dialect, and the Canadian dialect for French.

These three new languages ​​and dialects join the list of languages ​​that previous Galaxy AI users could access, such as Mandarin, English (Indian, US and British dialects), French, German, Hindi, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Portuguese with Brazilian dialect, Spanish (Spanish, Mexican and US dialects), Thai and Vietnamese.

The new language and dialect support can now be downloaded to Galaxy S24, Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 FE, Galaxy Z Flip5, and Galaxy Tab S9 series devices, and may come to other devices in the near future.

Going forward, Samsung plans to add more languages ​​this year, namely Romanian, Turkish, Dutch, Swedish, Traditional Mandarin, and European Portuguese.

Features that utilize Galaxy AI’s translation capabilities are Live Translate and Chat Assist, which help users converse with foreign-speaking partners while reading the translation of the other person’s words on the device’s screen. Even if the person you’re talking to doesn’t use a smartphone or Android, Live Translate and Chat Assist can help users communicate in multiple languages.

Galaxy AI can also be used in the Note Assist feature, which can create a summary making it easier for users to be productive. Then there is Transcript Assist which combines AI and Speech-to-Text technology to facilitate the transcription of conversations, while also summarizing the conversation.

Finally there is assisted navigation which helps users while navigating cyberspace by assisting in the direct translation of news articles and web pages.
