Armed with confidence in the first game, Rinov/Pitha became more compact and calm when facing the Japanese pair in the second game. A good combination of attack and defense allowed Rinov/Pitha to widen the points gap, thus managing to win in two consecutive games.
The mixed doubles, 18th in the world, will thus continue their fight in the semifinals as they prepare to face the representatives of Denmark Mads Vestergaard/Christine Busch on Saturday (16/3).
Rinov/Pitha’s long trip to Orleans has become a priority for them and the federation in order to collect more qualification points for the Paris 2024 Olympics, next summer.
So far, Rinov/Pitha are still in 17th place in the Race to Olympics with a total of 51,184 points collected. They still have a chance to win the last place if they manage to become champions in this week’s Orleans tournament and take part in the last tournaments included in the calculation of qualification for Paris.
Meanwhile, there are still three more Indonesian representatives who will compete in the quarterfinals of the Orleans Masters 2024 today. There are two women’s doubles pairs, Lanny Tria Mayasari/Ribka Sugiarto and Meilysa Trias Puspitasari/Rachel Allessya Rose, as well as the doubles male, Sabar Karyaman Gutama/Mohammad Reza Pahlevi Isfahani.
